Everyone says Implement Automation

Its long time I have not written anything or shared anything with all of you. I thought to write but what?

So here I am with Real Time issue which every Manual Tester face.

Nowdays most of us are aware of word called "Automation", even on job sites we hear of Automation testers required, Do people really know what Automation means ? Client nowdays also use the line "I want Automation".  What happen then? Our so called Project Managers also shoots an email stating "we need to automate ABC Project" Are they really aware where Automation should be implemented or not? 

No, they don't know a single thing (When project manager is Non-technical). What to do ? Testers who just do manual testing comes into pressure and keep thinking their role is going to end. Is it? 

Before shooting such emails to Team one should do some analysis whether automation is feasible for project ABC or not , If yes what can be Automated because 100 % projects can't be Automated , also projects that have frequent changes can't be Automated .

Also Manual testing is needed even after project gets Automated because Scripts can't think their own. 

We should make our Managers aware first what's the difference in Automation and Manual terms .

"Team Leader " Most Common Used word in Corporate World / IT Sector

Introduction: -  A team leader is the one who provides guidance, instruction, and direction, leadership to a group of other for the purpose of achieving a key result or group of aligned results. The team leader reports to a project manager. Team leaders are required in every organization. The team leader monitors the quantitative and qualitative result that is to be achieved. Team leader’s responsibilities vary from organization (company) to organization. Team leader is the one who is responsible to take work form his/her subordinates. Whether it is an IT organization, a construction company, a product manufacturing company or a retail shop, team leaders play an important role in the success of any business. No company can grow without the Team Leaders who play most important role in growth of company. After Project Managers they are responsible for effective Time Management and Resources.

Qualities: - Team Leaders must having following Qualities to make the project successful:-

1.       Communication Skills

2.       Problem Solving (Both from Technical & No Technical)

3.       Good Listener

4.       Confidence

5.       Soft Spoken

6.       Inspire and Motivate people

7.       Teamwork

8.       Dedication

9.       Planning

10.   Coaching and Development

Above are the few Qualities that are must for the Team leader that they should possess.

Requirements for Effective Team Leader: -A team leader needs to have excellent managerial skills. So, the professionals with a bachelor's or master's degree in business management or management sciences can do well in this field. People with a doctorate degree would get the first preference when it comes to grabbing the best jobs in the industry. Getting a degree from a reputed college or university can prove to be helpful for the team leaders. Apart from the educational qualifications, team leaders should have the requisite certifications from reputed institutions. Excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, ability to take risks, fast decision making are some qualities which every good team leader should possess. Team leaders generally learn these skills through experience. In the next paragraph, we shall know more about the salary for the team leaders.

Responsibilities of Team Leader: -Team leaders have to undertake the responsibility of completing the set targets by coordinating with his team members. They distribute work among the members of the team based on their talent and abilities. He considers their educational qualifications and past experiences while allotting work to them. A team leader conducts meeting with his team members to explain to them their nature of work and duties. He answers all the queries of the team members related to work. Whether it is an IT organization, a construction company, a product manufacturing company or a retail shop, team leaders play an important role in the success of any business. Then, team leaders report their decisions to their seniors and implement new plans or suggestions given by them. The challenge before the team leaders is to understand the expectations of the clients of the company for which they work and get the work done from the team members before the deadline. Now, having understood the team leader responsibilities, let us discuss the requirements for a good team leader. Today team leaders act as Mentor. In earlier days, Mentoring was one-way transfer on knowledge. However,nowadays Mentor is a two-way transfer of knowledge. Mentoring can occur by any mean of mode i.e. Telephonic, Email, Face to face etc. Mostly in organizations Mentoring is done by Face to Face. We heard of a term “Onsite Coordinator”, Person who is responsible to guide offshore team. He is the only person who talks to client on Requirements and then he act as mentor who guide the Development team/Testers about the functionality i.e. what is required , How to develop etc.

Mentoring also pays tremendous benefits for mentors, both personally and professionally. In fact, lawyers in practice for as little as five years can often better relate to the concerns of a new lawyer.

Does Testing Means Zero Defects?

Most of us always face such situation where our seniors tell that there should be zero defect. How often we get to hear this question? I think daily..

We use products in our daily life which have bugs i.e. Nokia mobiles which have many bugs thats why the company release the updates .

Who is responsible for this question? We or the people who don't know what really testing is?

Well we (testers) are also equally responsible for it. When one such question is told to us , we should tell those people(mostly managers) thats its never possible and it won't be. Testing is the only way to judge the quality , we should tell them the basic definition that testing ensures quality but not zero defects.

Whenever some bug comes in UAT testing , then we should see people face.. (Simply ohhh with open mouth)... Lolz. Bug is a reality and we should face it.

My simple question to them is Why Testing efforts are not shown more or equally to development? If they want less bugs or zero then they should know the value of testing. Hope people will understand the value of testing in future while placing task orders .
